Safety and trust
Letting someone into your home or your event is a big deal. Here is what we check, how we protect you, and what we can't do.
How professionals are vetted
Professionals join FIXXA by invitation and are checked before their first job.
- Identity checked against their NIN with a verification partner
- Phone number and home address confirmed
- Skills and past work reviewed
- Guarantor for roles with unsupervised home access
- Police character report and childcare references for nannies and babysitters
- Ratings and complaints reviewed after every job; people who fall short are removed
Protected communication
Numbers stay private
You talk through a protected chat in the FIXXA app. Your number isn't shared with the professional, and theirs isn't shared with you.
Chat opens only after booking
Nobody can contact you about a job until it is confirmed.
Pay only through FIXXA
Never send money to a professional directly, and tell us if anyone asks you to.
Evidence on every job
Professionals mark arrival and completion, with photos where it matters.
Safety centre
In the app, on every active booking.
Alert button
Sends FIXXA your booking ID. Your location is included only if you choose to share it.
Trusted contacts
Add people who can be told about a booking you're worried about.
Report an incident
Tell us what happened, during or after a job. A safety officer reviews every report.
Emergency shortcut
One tap to call 112 or, in Lagos, 767.
What we can't do
We'd rather be honest about the limits.
- FIXXA is not an emergency service and does not replace the police, fire service or ambulance.
- We do not monitor bookings live around the clock. Alerts are reviewed by our team as quickly as we can, fastest during working hours.
- Background checks reduce risk but can't remove it. Use your own judgement, especially with children and older relatives.
